Walked in the door, there were two young ladies standing there, one walked away as soon as we entered. The other was on her phone, texting. We waited while she took her time finishing her text. She seated us and took our drink order. Then she brought the wrong beer, took our food order and walked away. We ended up taking the beer to the bartender. He apologized and said the server just reached into the beer cooler and grabbed the beer next to the one we ordered. When our food finally came out, it was cold. It had been sitting for some time before she got around to bringing it out. We will not be returning to this place.
As 6 people waited to the seated, 2 staff members walked right past us to take a smoke break. We sat ourselves and were discovered 5 minutes later.
My favorite place to eat in Oriental seems to be in crisis. On Front Porch Music Festival weekend the place was only half full yet the staff was deep in the weeds.
I've eaten perhaps 20 flounder sandwiches (Fin on a Bun) here and never had to beg to have the skin removed before frying it. It appears that the kitchen doesn't want to do that anymore. It arrived 30 minutes later spiked with perhaps a dozen good sized bones in the filet, but at my insistence, no skin.
Food and staff are both excellent. Good view of the water. Nice place to come in and relax. Would recommend this restaurant to all my friends.
I paid $35 for a hamburger a couple of shrimp and some onion rings they say it's a Shrimp Basket they give you 5 strimp. the burger was good. nice view of the marina, and a decent atmosphere. The waitress was friendly helpful and nice
Visited the restaurant with my wife and infant at a peak time on a busy weekend. Met the owner at the host position and have rarely had such a welcoming and gracious experience. Thumbs up for a great staff and food/drink! Dragonbreath burger is phenomenal.
I hope management gets a handle on this soon. I want the old Toucan's back.
